medical school update

 medical school came with lots of new toys.  erik learned how to use these new toys at school today.  parks and i are now his guinea pigs.  we have bright lights in our eyes and things in our ears. 

erik - yeah, medical school has been a blast. well, atleast the parts where i'm not sitting in lecture; which is what i do for about 30 hrs/week. you know you're kind of a nerd when someone makes a joke about mitochondria or DNA and it's funny. then there is about 4 hrs of the week where we see "patients" and play doctor and another 4 where we're in a big room and everyone is has stripped down to just shorts, or shorts and a sports bra. kind of weird at first, but today was nice and relaxing. we worked on OMM or OPP and pretty much just gave each other neck and back massages. nice. and yes, i have some pretty sweet and expensive doctor accessories that i've been using on the fam. the med skills and OMM i've learned i can't do on annie yet without her busting up laughing. ok, i need to study. student doctor miguel, out.

nursery

on sunday parks went to his first day of nursery.  for the first 15 min he was fine.  but i guess after that he just pointed to the door crying and said "door door"  so they came and found me and parks and i walked around the church until he calmed down.

 after he stopped crying i asked him if he wanted to go back and play with the toys.  The closer that we got to the nursery door he started to say "nonononononononono".  I went in with him and played. 

After a while dad came into nursery with parks.  they sang songs and colored pictures.  The funniest thing happened during treat time, the kids were given raisins.  parks took one bite and spit it out.  he then looked around and saw that all of the kids were eating rasins so he gave in to peer pressure and ate his raisins.

* erik and i also had a rough first day of church.  We spent most of sacrament meeting trying to find people that looked like we could be friends with.  After i pointed out about 5 different couples erik told me that we did not need any friends from the ward.  Erik also tried to use michael scotts way of memorizing names, the only problem is that we did not learn their real names so we still know them as "flower head" and "bicep".  We then had to sit through an hour of old people debating the old testiment.

Last Monday erik had his white coat ceremony. 

Parks and i were very glad that we got to be there.  Parks ate lots of fruit snacks during the ceremony. 

At the white coat ceremony all of the new students got to walk across the stage and have the new coat put on them.

* we are so proud of our dad and think that he is the best.  he took his first test this week and did amazing*

summer rain

we went to the lake tonight to feed the ducks.  it started to  rain.   so we had to run home.

Arizona

* We finally made it to arizona.  Parks loves the new house, he acts like it is christmas everytime that we unload a new box.  He spent most of the day today trying to get someone to put monsters inc on for him. 

Dad put it on a computer and parks thought it was the coolest thing ever.

 Later that day when he wanted to watch it again he made me put the computer

in the exact same spot.

* Parks also discovered the tupperware cupboard about three minuets after i unpacked it. 

 now he keeps leaving me

little stacks of cups!!!

* Last night as we were getting parks ready for bed, we all sat on the couch and dad read us a story, the second that it ended parks jumped off of the couch and ran as fast as he could to his room to get another one.  He came running back with the biggest smile on his face. (he kept doing it again and again)

* Erik is loving medical school, he loves his teachers, his classmates, and everthing that they are learning.  He has his first test on monday so he is studying like crazy. 

i almost forgot we had a little "uh oh" with the cookies.

i left to go to girls camp on wednesday morning. Wednesday night erik came up to tell me that he had just got accepted to A.T. Still in Arizona.  He then told me that we had to be there by Monday.  We are moving tonight.

* the roadrunners *

for the past three years my dad has had season tickets to the roadrunners.  parks loves going the games

he likes to hold the ticket and find the giant birds. 

but his very favorite part

is the treats.

this past friday they made jessica be in a dance contest

the other day parks and i dropped dad of at work and went to get a drink @ the gas station

parks had to hold the drink in the car seat &

he spent the rest of the day walking around with his drink.

the other night parks got a new pool from walmart
(parks loves going to walmart)

so we spent the afternoon in the pool

Independence Day

we celebrated the 4th of july for three days this year

day one Saturday:

the whole fam ran a race in the morning (parks was in the stroller).  Then grandma mom parks and ammon rode home in the car while grandpa jess and dad ran home. 

 the rest of the afternoon was spent in the pool.

Parks found a paddle.

Day two sunday:

sunday night we went up to brianhead to watch the

fireworks. 

parks spent most of the night throwing rocks with grandpa

parks also learned to be a pick pocket

(what do you expect he is cuban just kidding i just think it is cute that i have a little cuban)
